i don't understand "naming names" of free and public projects that are incidentally used by evil folks nor trampling the spirit of open source by specifically excluding them from your license, as though the people putting children in cages to die have a deep respect for the law

I'm in a constant battle On the one hand thoughts tend to flow faster than I can talk or write. On the other hand I'm trying to express them with the perfect language. If I'm not careful I will forget what I was saying mid-sentence or it sounds like I have a speech impediment.

Two people passed each other in a grocery store, and the one with greater privilege reacted by turning the one with less privilege into a rhetorical object, to weaponize against other people like her. But aside from that nothing happened

James Lindsay: "Earlier today, I passed a black woman in the store; we briefly made eye contact and smiled at one another before carrying on with our shopping. Nothing else happened.

Intersectionality insists that there were racial and gendered power dynamics that needed interrogating here."

so "queer is a slur" going around again, and you know its weird, the single slur I heard most when I was growing up was "gay", as in "thats fuckin gay" which is said 197 times a day by every 14yo in north america, but now nobody says "gay is a slur, dont say it" for some reason

Please. Please. Please look at your eduxational materials and strike all uses of “simple”, “easy”, “simply”, “obvious”, and “straightforward “ These don’t motivate learners. If it were easy or simple you wouldn’t have spent the tome to put a lesson together.

    * It turns all government agents into mandatory reporters to the parents of a trans youth that they are trans (e.g. all teachers are legally required to tell parents if their child might be transgender) * Any mandatory reporter who fails to do so is subject to penalty. 5/n

if you think this approach, specifically, is a good idea, ask yourself whether you want libraries to stop lending books to Palantir employees, and what would be the consequences if they did

"an industry driven by young people" is such a friendly-sounding way of saying "most passionate people doing what is likely their childhood dream job leave within a decade of joining our industry"

ostensibly, air : sea :: airport : seaport however, airports are completely immersed in the fluid they are named for in this essay, i will make the case for flooding all our seaports for linguistic consistency,
