Had a great day with Advance HE discussing retention, finishing with the question 'How do we embed Mental Health and Wellbeing into the curriculum?'. A timely conversation against the backdrop of this report and following Stonewall training last week

Often referenced this when a PGCE course leader and questions about pupil participation came up. Also really useful as a parent.

We're hosting 'The Great Get Together' this Friday; it's a free event bringing students, staff and the local community onto campus to promote togetherness. If you're interested in free food, art and crafts, why not pay us a visit?

In light of TEF, student retention is a big concern. However has anyone actually considered how staff retention (based on casualisation of contracts, reliance on temporary staff) and staff pressure/wellbeing plays a role in this? Happy, stable staff = happy, stable students?

For all my colleagues writing new programmes or changing their programmes this should be a question for the team and not just the 'author'

A bit surprised to find myself being interviewed, but enjoyed being put on the spot and speaking about empowering teachers to research themselves.

I notice that many people who comment on what teachers should/shouldn’t do in schools, don’t teach in schools. Maybe they should give it a try and see how it works day in day out in the average classroom.
