Always found it weird how the moon is the only celestial body in our known universe that does not spin on its axis. It just sits there still. Like a radar or satellite. What is the moon?

Yes. You can expect that to happen when an object’s revolution takes the same time as an orbit around its gravity partner. It’s tidally locked.

Many satellites (moons and asteroids) in the solar system are tidally locked to their gravity well I believe mercury is even tidally locked to the sun. Sounds hot hot hot haha
