I started to fully realize 2 years back or so that the institutions would essentially capture the core crypto scene and do exactly what you're saying. But the technology itself is repeatable, so we'll see version of crypto come out during and after that which have broken free.

Weird cat & mouse game though. Make a coin, sell your crypto into it, it grows, they capture, repeat. As long as enough people keep up the run, there will always be a free domain in finance. But if people tucker out, decide to stay in a captured coin... we lose power.
