"Get hit in the face" advice is normally from these gurus that go to middle-aged Dad boxing classes. Any seasoned boxer would tell you NOT to get in the ring just for some mental toughness, it's too risky on the brain.

Call me a pussy but this is the reason I stopped boxing and focused on jiu jitsu. Too many headaches after sparring.

Yes exactly. Different for people like Ali, but that man was 6 foot 3 and was faster than lightweights. Only if you don't have anything else going for you is a boxing career a viable option.
