Decentralised variety is always better in most cases. What is better tasting? A Starbucks coffee, or that very unique and unknown local stuff from a small cafe that is family-owned?

One breeds attention to detail and care for the customer. The other breeds generic mediocrity and indifference to the customer. Every will notice, the more corporate things get, the less they care about the individual who buys from them.
