I think crypto has the possiblity to create a decentralised monetary system. Abandoning the corrupt fiat monetary system we currently have. But I don't think the government will let that happen so easily. They will try everything in their power to control supply of crypto.
P.s I love bitcoin and it has many great benefits. But I often wonder about it's true origins and the motives behind it.

Alex Jones said that George Soros asked him to shill bitcoin to his audience in 2011. Now Alex Jones sometimes says stuff that’s a bit over the top but I always felt like he truly believes what he says and doesn’t make things up.

I think it might have to do with the cyber pandemic Klaus Schwab talks about. If people have most of there money in something that operates via the internet and this cyber pandemic hits it could erase vast amounts of wealth from ordinary people without repercussions.
