Never understood that one either. I don't think most people actually listen to the lyrics of most songs very deeply, they just think "ouu this sounds good" and enjoy it if it has an upbeat/stimulating chorus.
It's meant to put people into an emotional state so they don't logically register the terrible afffirmations they are chanted while drunk.
