Might need more context here but narcissism is not a made up term by any stretch. I spent my life confusing it with say vanity or pride, and I could not have been more wrong, and paid a very big price, many times over. It is a very real personality disorder.

What price did you pay?

Rather not go into it. All I can say is do not confuse those words, as many others still seem to do. The lack of clarity is half the problem. For most people who experience it, the first thing they say is “why was this not taught in school?” The vast majority.

Mate. People will fuck you around and let you down. People can be selfish and self-serving. You only ever get what you put up with. It's not some complex mental issue. Let me guess - it was a girl wasn't it? She let you down badly. But YOU accepted it.

Lol. I came here to help you with clarity, I don’t need help. I have helped myself in great detail I have been researching the topic for a very long time. You mentioned happy leaders etc, this is simply way, way off. Happy to point you to some literature and vids.

You have not provided clarity. Other than telling me you had bad experiences with people who did you wrong. Instead of admitting you were a coward for putting up with it, you blame a made up mental illness to justify your own failure.

And I'm not trying to put you down or be a dickhead. I have been that guy before. “I was fucked over by an evil narcissistic friend” no - I put up with a dickhead and paid the price.

I didn’t come to talk about me but you seem keen to. I did add clarity but you insist on using the word narcissism incorrectly. So the premise of the thread is just faulty. NPD has next to nothing to do w happiness/pride/etc and everything to do with manipulation, shame etc.
