Chess is not a sport IMO. It falls under game. Like darts, snooker etc. You can be overweight and still be a chess champ. Not saying it’s easy but it’s non physical.
War requires both; the strategists and the fighters. Looks like fighter’s ego is fulfilled in sports while strategists find solace in chess type games!
