I started avoiding my mom since I was 12-13. And spent a lot of time outside with friends. Driving 6 miles on our bicycles, then driving a car (even being underage, which was pretty common back then in Argentina). Your mom is great, just can't teach you how to be a man.

Notice how that movie was never pushed as hard as other movies in that genre? Positive Father figure theme. Very telling.
