I started avoiding my mom since I was 12-13. And spent a lot of time outside with friends. Driving 6 miles on our bicycles, then driving a car (even being underage, which was pretty common back then in Argentina). Your mom is great, just can't teach you how to be a man.

That’s why the movie “Boyz N Tha Hood” is so good. The main character is sent to live with his father at a young age and becomes a better man. All his friends with no dad end up dead or in the can. Great movie.

Never saw that one. Definitely gonna check it out now. My father was in the military and very often away from home for months. I had to go out and find out about things on my own, with my friends, doing stupid shit and learning the lessons.
