If you dont have kids, how many people are doing out of life in the future? This is the deeper question, If you dont create life, then they will never live or create life, its a scary-ass thought to me.
I dont think the world overpopulated. I dont think many people may feel like they want kids, but one thing to consider is - how far back did your genetics go? Do you wanna be the one who stopped that chain? Because you felt the world was too busy? Or you wanted more cash?

I don't think it is either, and I think your point is empirically true at the most root level but maybe this is the human species subconscious way of selecting the best traits to pass on to the next generation since we don't really have any existential threats to deal with...

Anymore. By removing themselves from the gene pool, more people who do believe in these time proven ideals with survive and pass that knowledge on to the next generation. How many children died under 5 200 years ago? Same premise, only these are the walking dead essentially.
