Perhaps yes. But I doubt the men of that era would have stayed at home and have their livelihoods deemed “non essential” Smart fones and the false reality of the internet assured more compliance than anything else IMO.

Back then it would not have been as hysterical, mass 24/7 media was not being pumped into peoples mind. You had your family and friends and you only cared about them and what was going on in your own town. Now it’s completely different.
