Day 3 of fasting. I have insane levels of mental and physical energy. All my senses are heightened (especially smell) I believe this is due to DNA of ancestral memories from my hunter-gathering great ancestors, who would go without food for long periods. Feel like I could sprint

I can understand why Plato and other well known Greek philosophers would do this. Especially before difficult exams. It really foes clear out the crap in your stomach (subsconcious) All connected. Alchemy.

The process of preparing food, consuming it, then the long digestion process is very draining and time-consuming. This is a great way to recalibrate the system. I will continue until I hit the 72-hour mark at 6pm, then perhaps eat a deer

72H fast complete. Broke the fast with a little plate of soup. Really enjoyed it. Now feel full and happy. The second day was the hardest. The third day was the easiest. I was tempted to go longer, but my body was telling me to start consuming (slowly) genuine hunger is real.

I realised a lot about food, dopamine and how our bodies operate under duress. Many people just eat for a quick buzz because they think they are hungry. It’s no different to a drug addict using drugs to get through the day.

The levels of mental energy I experienced was insane. I was blitzing through tasks at warp speed and seemed to be able to get a barrel load of work done I was putting off. It’s a productivity hack for real.

I highly recommend a 3 day fast to recalibrate your system and clear your mind and stomach of all the debris’s we have clogged up inside our bodies. I noticed an increase in vivid dreams also.

Short term memory function was sharper. I was driving home and randomly remembered something I had to pick up while I was out. Usually I would not have noticed until I was home.

Overall cognitive function was better. I was writing much quicker and slicker than normal. Had less editing to do when I was finished the piece.

Smell, hearing and vision was sharper also. I could smell everything in the supermarket, seen a chicken and had strong urge to hunt, kill, gut and eat. Felt caveman mode for a moment it was nuts lol

Recommendations - cut food gradually before the fast rather than “loading up” Have set tasks to do to keep your mind occupied. Drink warm water with a little pinch of salt to stay hydrated. Don’t do any rigorous training. A light walk is ideal. Just be sensible with it.

Take supplements if your worried about malnutrition. You could argue they have calories in them but it’s next to zero, so I doubt it would make a difference.
