So the UK gov is banning crypto leverage trading. Good. Like all gambling, it’s probably going be a net loss for the vast majority of people who do it. Not a bad decision tbh.

People shouldn't be banned from making bad decisions. With the nature of crypto and VPNs being a thing, it's not like this stops them. Instead it only prevents them from reaching out or discussing it for fear of being arrested.

All things considered. It’s not a bad decision. People are banned from meeting up with a certain number of other humans in the UK. We crossed the point of no return in March mate.

Right, not good. I see this regulation in a similar light. "Oh, it's just two weeks to stop the spread!" Quarantine continues a year later. "Oh, we are just protecting people from crypto gambling. --also, publicly register your crypto wallet for your protection, citizen."

Maybe man. Governments and the bankers who own them don’t like not having full control over all financial levels of society.

The hope is there's enough private interest (particularly among large companies) to fend off regulation for awhile. Coinbase recently went to bat on this, and while it's for their own survival, it is also an inspiring argument for crypto as a whole. https://twitter.com/brian_armstrong/status/1331744884856741888?s=19 …
