So the UK gov is banning crypto leverage trading. Good. Like all gambling, it’s probably going be a net loss for the vast majority of people who do it. Not a bad decision tbh.

Right, not good. I see this regulation in a similar light. "Oh, it's just two weeks to stop the spread!" Quarantine continues a year later. "Oh, we are just protecting people from crypto gambling. --also, publicly register your crypto wallet for your protection, citizen."
Maybe man. Governments and the bankers who own them don’t like not having full control over all financial levels of society.

The hope is there's enough private interest (particularly among large companies) to fend off regulation for awhile.
