Terrible for mental health
Sustained periods of isolation with little or no contact with other humans is really bad for you overall. However, somethings you simply can’t discover any other way. Some people just need to find out stuff about themselves that most don’t.

Isolation has its benefits. But too much of it , isn't beneficial to the human. Ask the prisoners in solitary confinement.
