To be honest. We've had it too easy, especially in the west. Maybe we need to fall under a brutal tyranny before we understand how decadent, lazy and spolied we once were?

I meant. Life in general has been easy in the west. Especially for the past 20 years or so. We have had the benefits of a free and open society, technology etc.

Completely agree with you about the last 20 years or so. What ease we now take for granted has been earned by the sweat of our fathers and grandfathers. We haven't earned it ourselves.
