I feel like its a modern phenomenon. Men of the past must’ve been more curious and open to new thought.
The problem with being well read and intelligent is - When you inform simple minds of complex plans and point out the fine detail behind key issues, they tend to think you're just trying to show off. It's seen as weird to be aware. The average "man" has a child like mind.
