I guess this begs the question(s), how does it end for them? Do they have their own eschatology with a different outcome or are they attempting to thwart destiny? Is there a canon of Illuminist sacred texts? What are they?

They will exterminate around 90% of the global population, and then they hope to merge with silicon and live forever with life extension technology, and one day "ascend" into space and become Gods. Quite an ambitious bunch.
