The “I” experimented. Think the first time I saw it was in The Untethered Soul book. Repeatedly say “I” in your mind. If you’re the one saying I, who’s the one listening? Meditate on this. Think on it
You have 2 minds. You're thoughts and the fact you're aware of your thoughts. It's like watching a movie. It's like a good movie, you become tuned in and forget it's a movie. This is key to eliminating negative loop patterns. Identify & kill them.

That Awareness of the “I” is still ego just compartmentalized in another region of mind so as to observe itself. It is Ego “moving up a level” to see itself.
