Exacerbated to a great extent because of instagram. Previously people would be jealous of the most successful guy in their town. Now they are jealous of random people who live on the other side of the world because their flexing on IG. The mind cannot cope with the reach today
I agree. It's always been there, but it's now been aggravated by social media use increasing.

It's the reason why communities don't exist anymore. Everyone has self-isolated into their own little groups. Jealousy kills connection. As one increases the other decreases.
