What is your policy and process for inputting cards?
- Focus on frequently used words. - Enter pictures rather than English words (to avoid mentally translating), target language word on the other side. Pictures are tricky for more abstract concepts, but combinations of pictures seem to mostly solve that. - Review the cards daily.

Ideally I would *create* the cards according to some kind of schedule too, but I'm not that well-organized.

I got this from the book Fluent Forever (https://www.amazon.com/Fluent-Forever-Learn-Language-Forget/dp/0385348118/ …), which goes into much more detail.

There's an app designed to make this process go more smoothly, but it's in beta and I haven't used it yet. Using Anki (https://apps.ankiweb.net/ ), I've learned about 2000 German words with strong retention.
