Isn't RGB different from Component?

Yes our cables take the RGB produced by the consoles and convert to YPbPr. N64 needs modding to get RGB to output

can Retro get it to work with NS2 consoles?

There's a more complicated & expensive mod for non-NS1. It may work. We have not tested it ourselves, so no guarantee.
