These conditions range from severe colds and pneumonia to asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, lung cancer and COVID-19. Respiratory therapists (RTs) are specialized in their knowledge of cardiopulmonary assessment, evaluation, treatment and care of patients with respiratory problems.
