Famed civil rights attorney Michael Sussman begins saying that State lawmakers in assembly and house were openly hostile to religious people leading up to the repeal of the religious exemption.

Sussman says the state has, "Dropped what I consider a nuclear bomb on these families." He says in California when religious exemptions where repealed there was a phase in window of a year and it allowed kids already in schools without vaccines to be grandfathered in.

Sussman argues that because the state still allows medical exemptions to vaccines, people with religious exemptions are therefore being discriminated against.
