Here in Germany we have something called Volksverhetzung (rabble-rousing) and it is like the bringing people up against another group. This is gladly banned, because we saw the outcome. But this here is ridiculous. It is clearly satirical.

There’s no freedom of speech there. Doesn’t matter if you’re a child or an old senile citizen.

Yeah totally. I'm sitting here with smartphone in a bunker, so the Stasi can't find me.

I just don’t like the fact that you can’t question anything about the past or anything the government does. And the fact that senile old people get arrested for saying offensive things.

You can say whatever you want. But outright lying like denying the holocaust for example is wrong. And you are allowed to question the government and criticise it. Even doing satirical stuff or making fun of.

As an American, I don't think you should be arrested for any opinion that does not directly harm another; eg pedophilia, terrorism. Saying the Holocaust never happened or saying the numbers were exaggerated does not hurt anyone. Especially when an elderly person is saying it.

It's sometimes hard do divide the line between good and evil, because most of the people aren't black/white Disney villains who are evil for the sake of evil. Btw I don't support arresting old people for stuff like that either, they'll die soon anyways.

And as you stated, you are an American. You don't know how it's here. And I don't know how it's in the US. I can't tell how it was with Obama or now it's with Trump. I can't judge. It's all matter of perspective and what you are used to.

Agreed. But despite my relatives and friends out there, I would never give up the ease of total free speech. I love it too much. I love questioning everything. But everyone has their qualms.

We do have freedom of speech, but also laws to prevent people to start spreading hatred which leads to violence.
