Our new pub shows that lizards transition through a single season from many small eggs to fewer larger eggs in the wild and in the lab, suggesting a limited role for environmental cues dictating parental investment patterns

You guys... Martha Stewart just made a 40-sec video of our new paper. Happy to reach a wide audience... but the real reason I mention it is because of the priceless part where a random woman models an orange shirt. 😂

Excited to share the final version of a collaboration with !! In here, we do some truly interdisciplinary work to understand why and how our thinking surrounding animal territoriality has been confused and confusing for so very long. (1/)

I should mention that I told Manuel this project was a waste of time. The prevailing view then was that lizard thermal tolerance doesn't evolve because behavioral thermoregulation buffers them from selection. He called bullshit. Sometimes you should listen to your advisor.

News of falling lizards about ten years ago led to Manuel Leal and I comparing cold tolerance of invasive lizards in Miami to those in their native range in Puerto Rico. And guess what: they evolved! Great memories!

Anyone have experience palpating lizards for the presence of eggs, or know someone who does? Have an undergrad that wants to do a project that employs that method in anoles, but I've never done it and we've had a couple leads that fell through. Thanks!

Do embryonic temperatures influence the heat tolerance of adults? We found no evidence for developmental plasticity in the thermal physiology of Anolis sagrei. New paper with Dan Warner and .
