Guillermo's demand is quite reasonable; poor science literacy among policy makers is a massive problem everywhere. I can easily see a case for focused training being constitutionally mandated as needed. The world is constantly in flux, but leaders' educations can stagnate.
People in medical technology field are mandated to have refresher courses on safe development procedures regularly - often more than once a year - to ensure that they remain competent for making life-affecting decisions in their work. Politicians not? Why not?
