Bottom line - there's going to be a lot of people quarantined for quite some time.

Coronaviros Feb 5. Nearly 25,000 cases, nearly 500 deaths. Still no vaccine to prevent the spread, hence quarantines. When a vaccine is made it will take time to mass produce & distribute + due to the 2 week incubation period it may not work on people exposed but not yet sick.

Another loss to the scourge of light pollution. Turn off your damned lights! Both you and nature need darkness.

How bright will be when it blows up? Moon-ish brighness for 3+ months, seen during the daytime for about a year, brighter than the star now for ~2 years, naked eye visible for ~3 years. Credit: grad students Jared Goldberg and Evan Bauer using MESA. 1/

This, my friends, is a relativistic key shooting out of the central region of M87, where the famously imaged black hole M87* sits! That black hole is 6 BILLION times the mass of the Sun. This is a super cool, friends.
