Agree, email is the only channel that I think a company/brand really owns.

Yes and no. The problem is so many people use gmail. It is a simple thing for that platform to filter your email into another tab or disappear it altogether. People will rarely notice if email fails to arrive - especially if they don't know when to expect it. #vcbuzz
