Hey @YouTube why can’t I edit out music from a video if it’s intelligible for monetization even when the reason is that it’s not monetized is because of a copyright claim? Oh, and the claim is from someone who doesn’t even own the song in question.

Hey there, if you get a claim for a piece of music in your video, you can try to remove the song w/out having to edit and upload a new video. More here: https://yt.be/help/5H7o If you believe it was made in error you can dispute (but you may want to get legal advice first).

Thanks, but it removed that option for me specifically because it was inelligible for monetization. I am also very aware that their claim is invalid, but cannot unfortunately dispute it from fear of legal recourse and because the claimant holds all power over whether or not

The video is infringing and as per usual will likely ignore my pleas; I would like to ask for a manual review if that is at all possible

We actually have a dedicated team that manually reviews your disputes, so rest assured that they're being checked carefully. Here's another resource you can check about the editing tools you can use and about the dispute process: https://yt.be/help/j2xJ . Hope this helps!

Okay, I used the trim feature to remove the section in question; how do I go about refuting the claim now?
