A worry junior engineers and new hires frequently have is that they ask too many questions. The most common advice I've heard is to try to figure it out yourself for 30 min, and if you're still stuck, ask. This is reasonable advice, but I don't think it's actually very good.

  6. More companies need to actively support employee side projects and businesses 🚀 Put it in the employee agreement and mention it in job posts, interviews, and onboarding. Then, celebrate those who leave to grow something 🎉 Shout-out to who implemented this ❤️

Important to realize as a founder: Growth often feels slower than it really is. Especially bootstrapping. Look back 3 months. Where were you? This reflection will motivate you to keep piling up the small wins. They compound. (s/o who helped me realize this)

Best thing I've heard today: People wrongly think that you need to be an expert to write about something. Wrong. Writing is the way that you LEARN about the thing that THEN you become an expert in. Nailed it Writing is a powerful learning tool

When I worked at Garmin ~12 years ago, my boss forbade me from having glitter in the office bc it would “ruin the keyboards”. But I needed that glitter bc I was a java developer and doing java all day and night was really boring.
