Instead of @TeamYouTube removing checkmarks, they COULD have just added a new type of verification for these high end brands or whatever the heck they are talking about. But that would make too much sense.

Twitter already went though this with media, the difference is when it’s YouTube you know their will be an Ad Boycott. Rather we lose verification than advertisers...
