The problem with psychology is it’s philosophy of mind. And I personally find it very interesting that it’s inception in the 19 century very closely parallels Karl Marx. Not a coincidence.

I think another way to counter this trend is to allow studies on non-WEIRD samples to be published without COG statements. Assumptions of universality seem to have only worked in favor of researchers using WEIRD samples to (over)generalize their findings. 2/7
