Whilst Australia has strong protections in place, given the nature of the overall global pandemic we have repeatedly said that there would inevitably be cases and localised outbreaks at some point, be it Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or elsewhere.
Four States have recently been tested with outbreaks, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. All have taken appropriate action to effectively manage these outbreaks. We are confident that Western Australia will also be able to control the current outbreak.
The coming days will be difficult for many Western Australians and we thank them for their patience and cooperation as we all work to fight this virus.
Yeah it’s 1 case at the moment! But could change. Hopefully it doesn’t and everything is fine but better to be safe! Or do you want to be like most of the world where thousands are dying from covid every day?

Spare me Greg! Such hypocrisy! You have criticised the states at every opportunity in the past! What brings on the sudden attitude change? Focus groups telling you that the Premiers have made the correct call at every stage? People don’t want to “live with the virus!”
Canberra has never been tested with an outbreak and it is a wild fire waiting to happen with its high level of complacency, no restrictions nor social distancing, mostly APS work in offices & many exempted diplomats and interstate politicians in/out & more contagious variants.

Western Australia has taken extremely inappropriate action out of step with Victoria and NSW.
Are you serious? No community infection in WA for about 10 months now, I think you’ll find most in WA support the State Government in their actions.
