So they should be free. Australians have had 8.7 million Covid tests this year - and many of them had to get a GP appointment first to tell the doctor they had a cold so they could get a referral to get tested. Hardly a great use of anyone’s time, let alone an incentive to test.

Glad you put your hot take on the right post this time. 1st, 87.5% of what? All visits to a GP? Any doctor? How much does it cost to see a specialist? How many are not going to specialists because they can't afford it? 2nd, what about that social housing graph then? Thoughts?

A: % of medicare 'services' - ie doctor consultations, pathology, radiology, etc. The Minister has misconstrued the stats.

PLEASE stop this point scoring nonsense. Out of pocket costs ARE higher - because you maintain the freeze on Medicare rebates, while the cost of running a GP practice increases. BB rates are high for many reasons, one of which is that you mandated BB for telehealth in a pandemic!

As a major taxpayer Medicare is not free Minister- please remove this amateur rhetoric as it’s like saying roads are free and public hospitals are free
