It is no surprise that GP bulk billing rates are high. GPs are the only group that have been FORCED by the government to bulk bill Telehealth consults! Patients either get no rebate or must be bulk billed. No wonder bulk billing numbers are high!

And the GP profession is hurting .

Like many others Greg, I don't have the spare money to travel to see a Doctor and I bet you 5 cents there are a lot of people in the same boat. You just don't see them

Argh so many problems with this! 1. You are FORCING us to BB. 2. BB rates are not conducive to good medicine. 3. You are driving away good GPs in droves because the Medicare rebates are not enough to sustain practices! 4. Transparency - is this % of item numbers or attendances?

Dear @GregHuntMP,taking the kudos for ‘achieving’ high bulkbilling levels in the Covid crisis bears closer inspection. The huge load carried by GPs performing TeleHealth consults at low levels of remuneration is the real story.

You are destroying health care on the frontline at a time when it is needed most. GPs are ‘looking at options’ to move away from your destructive health care policies. There will come a point of no return, but I’m sure you won’t be in government for that. Foolish!
