Poor decision. Even if not closing schools, the sensible option would be to advise parents to keep their kids out of school, _if they can_. It is inconsistent to prohibit mass gatherings when you are encouraging daily mass gatherings of zero-hygiene kids as a reservoir.

Parents have that choice at our govt school of 3000 without penalty.

If schools close - provide a service for ALL Medical staff to have their children cared for.

Picture this. Kids keep going to school where virus will be rampant but asymptomatic in kids. Teachers get sick. They are symptomatic. Schools close for longer as the working population recovers from virus. Italy. Just look at Italy.
