  Great work Mr Hunt! Now time to increase postnatal payment so women can stay mothering and breastfeeding their babies. Also, need to ensure universal continuity of midwifery care, so women are well prepared for parenting and breastfeeding their newest family member

  WHO recommends all mothers exclusively breastfeed to 6 months. COAG hopes we can have an increase of women to 50%.

  Perhaps our goal to reach the WHO recommendation that 100%(not 50%) of babies are breastfed would be more achievable with improved access to parental leave, however until you fund adequate data collection nobody will know whether we succeed or not.

  WHO recommendations are for ALL babies to be exclusively breastfed to 6 months. Will the government start enforcing the MAIF as well? We will never reach even 50% with current levels of predatory marketing of formula and baby food.
