Let's discuss private health insurance and why so many are dropping out. Just received my medibank private advice about the rate increase. It also included how much they've paid out on the basis of my cover. I paid almost $2800 for basic hospital + top extras. They paid $889.

Late 50's and my only usage was basic dental, no orthodontics or any other claim. I've never used private hospitals apart from 1994 to deliver last child. When asked by public hospital intake whether they can bill the insurer, I say yes. Now tell me about your health plan.
