Sitting in GP’s waiting room with (side effect of too many sharp bangs to the head in my 20’s before were around) with 8 people coughing their lungs up. Is going to the GP surgery more injurious to your health than the ailment you attended with? 😬

One of the great voices of gentle, considered conservatism, Sir Roger Scruton, has sadly passed. We are the poorer for it but the richer for what he contributed in life. This article from last year, post public defenestration and recovery was remarkable:

It’s sad how this has swung around. Growing up, my mother was the exception who worked and was made feel an outsider by those who did not that were the majority. Today my better half (IQ 144) is regularly made to fee inadequate because she stays at home with our young family. 🤬

Boys without fathers are: 9x more likely to drop out of school 5x more likely to die by suicide 32x more likely to run away from home 20x more likely to go to prison We must promote the significance of men & involved-dads in every way possible! Right now, we do the opposite.

If you don’t believe in free speech for people who you disagree with, and even hate for what they stand for, then you don’t believe in free speech.

When King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia died in 2015, our flags of state (Whitehall, No.10, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, etc) flew at half mast. of Oman is not so honoured today. Why did we pay tribute to a murderous tyrant, but not to our true friend and ally?

I see this as the last words of a dying man to people he loves, most of all his wife whose unselfish love has uplifted and sustained him. But this is how I see my wife; is the real beauty: the individual perspective overlaying the words to bring home the message. ? 2/2

When are we going to stop regulating banking like petulant teenagers over 2008 and start addressing systemic risk rather than compounding concentrated/exclusionary lending?
