This tweet was not well considered. Clearly. Born out of my frustration with the idea of boosters after a difficult long term reaction to my 2nd shot. But it doesn’t consider the people who’s lives are saved by drugs everyday. I’ll leave it up because I should own it. I said it.

This seems endless.

I’m not suggesting that no one needs medicine or that drugs are not life saving. I’m saying that we have become largely unhealthy as a society and we are leaving ourselves increasingly vulnerable to disease. Most of us can strive to be healthier. In whatever ways we are able to.

I’m not anti vaxx. I’m anti lie to me about the vaxx.

It will be a huge relief when we get to %100 vaccinated. Because then the fully vaccinated will only need to be protected from the fully vaccinated and nothing will still go back to normal.

If a %16 unvaccinated population constitutes a grave threat to the %84 vaccinated population the problem may not be the unvaccinated.

Get healthy. It will probably save your life.

One of the benefits of being healthy is not needing to repeatedly fill your body with pharmaceuticals to be healthy.

If we didn’t overwhelm the health care system with 0% of the population vaccinated how great is the danger now with %80 vaccinated plus many more protected with naturally acquired immunity? Great enough to discriminate against the unvaccinated minority?

With the billions the government is going to waste on discriminatory vaccine passports they could probably build up our ICU capacity enough manage endemic COVID.

If %100 of the pop here was vaccinated what would change? Vaxxed people would still catch COVID & transmit it. That’s happening now. New variants will emerge. Places with %100 vaxxed still must mask & distance. They are not proposing a cure for COVID. So what are they proposing?

The majority of Ontarians are in favour of monitoring devices. Madness. Like the ankle bracelets once reserved for criminals. That’s what vaccine passports double as. The app will track your movements & you will be forced to carry it. COVID will never go away. Neither will these.

They are winning, but they haven’t won.

Dropping my daughter off at university today. Everyone on campus must be fully vaccinated. Plus the students were already in an incredibly low risk category without vaccination. Yet they all must still wear masks, socially distance & have limited capacity classrooms. Madness.

And I cannot vote for anyone who does.

The next month is important. Profound changes to our way of life are being ushered in. So think about how you want to live. Think about the kind of future you want for your children. We need to decide for ourselves. There are critical choices we have to make. Choose wisely. #Vote

Remember the sequel to 1984 where the government willingly gave up all of its authoritarian power and control and everyone lived happily ever after?

Whichever way we go now as a society we will we have to live with. We are deciding our future. We have been rushed along on a wave of fear, stress & conflicting information for 1 1/2 years. Take a moment to step back & really think about it. Our next steps will set our path.

I’m not suggesting vaccines are not helpful in lowering the symptoms of the vulnerable in a life saving way or that COVID isn’t real. It’s serious for many people. But we are at a crossroads. It is what it is & we know what it is. The question is how do we want to live with it?
