I hope liberals don’t tear it down, the San Jacinto monument, the way they’ve taken down the statue at Travis Park & Confederate plaques at the Courthouse in San Antonio. City officials have erased our History because of political correctness.

I got to visit there early this month. It was awesome!

Cool! I am from Beaumont (live in WV now) but had never been until last month when we took my 9-yr-old.

Tell me governor, why exactly did Texas want to break away from Mexico? Was it about liberty? Best to check the record
-
So Santa Ana disposed of the Mexican Constitution and became dictator. That enough for you, guy from the Northeast? Or do you need the full lesson?
-
The major objection Texans had to Mexico was the prohibition of slavery
-
Go read the Texas Declaration of Independence and show me that reason in there smart guy. Doesn't exist.
-
It exists in many other contemporaneous documents though, some of which I've read. History is always complicated and simple narratives like "they wanted liberty seldom apply."
-
Post one.
-
I'm done with you. Here's a tip- try thinking for yourself and actually understand people and communities who aren't like you. I LIVED THERE. Don't propose to lecture me or the governnor.
