Oh just stop. You, @DanPatrick @DonHuffines and rest of @TexasGOP have one goal: strip every dime from #txed. Get off twitter and go to church to relearn 10 commandments, please. Or find a pastor who will speak truth to power @pastors4txkids @SchoolPriority @TxEdVote @TXParentPAC

Yup, my daughter who's in 4th grade is already reading at an 8th grade level. Texas education is amazing.

So does all of this bragging mean you are going to increase
#publiceducation funding? Of course not. You are starving the system while feeding the privatizers.@Texans4E@pastors4txkids -
I thought teacher's chose this particular path to help children develop in to fine educated adults.... But nice to know that you would rather be paid to sit around and teach horse crap.

actually they are forced to "teach to the test", as in the immensely flawed STAAR test that costs billions yearly.
-
It's a standardized test to see where each kid stands, it also helps the district to see which teachers are failing, and every state has a version.

Is there any way to remove and stop STAAR and other mandatory testing for elementry, middle, & high school students? My son is so anxious and worried he's going to fail! Other children feel the same way. Why determine if they pass based on 1 test rather then their yrly grades?

Maybe for some! But if a child suffers from test anxiety so severe to puke and complain of stomach pains leading up to the date bc of one test that determines a pass or fail, then maybe the topic should be revisited! He's not the only 1 who suffers! Countless parents R concerned!

It's too bad their teachers have to pay an arm and a leg for medical insurance.

GTFOOH. You and your ilk have been gutting education funding for over two decades. If anything, you’re a hindrance to education.

Could it be because, due to their low economic status and thus qualifying for State-sponsored pre-K, they have been exposed to reading that lower middle-class students may not have been? Or, do they come from families that understand and value education and thus teach their kids?
-
What is the parental involvement from pre-K through 3rd grade?
