What would unite Texas & Florida with California & Puerto Rico? The need for disaster relief funding. We need to rebuild our states & communities ASAP. #txlege http://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/state-governors-team-up-to-push-for-disaster-relief-aid/269-511244846 …

Your question/comment is odd and I'm sure appeals to almost nobody. Why all this begging for "free" federal money lately?

It sure did rain alot. If only there were some sort of fund that could help on days that it rains alot. Perhaps, I don't know, a "rainy day fund".

Perhaps you should try working with reps from the northeast states affected by Sandy that needed federal disaster relief funding.

Hey. Modern day slaves? Want labor (no questions asked cuz you need them and god you don’t want to know they don’t have documents to work but you will break their backs rebuilding then throw them like used tools across the border). Jesus told you it’s ok. Cuz they broke the law?

you are the chief exec of Texas, not some third world places. we need to rebuild OUR state, not others.

Don't be a dolt, Johnny. That's a dumb take. This is an example of bipartisan cooperation, which is not only strategic in this case to get the feds off their ass, but it's also something the country needs in any context.

i'm from Texas. not cali or florida or puerto rico. i'm all about local control, in everything and every aspect of govt. in this case, I directly saw what Harvey did as a Texas Guardsman. our chief exec in Tx needs to focus on us w/o any overtures to outsiders or fed agencies.

I'm an umpteenth generation Texan, so I get that. But Texas (for better or worse) belongs to the union. The feds are a source of disaster relief. Abbott would be derelict in his duty if he didn't pursue a calculated strategy to get it. I can't believe you don't understand that.
