You’ve been Governor for 2 #TxLege sessions & failed to adequately fund #TxEd public schools, you fought districts as AG in lawsuit to adequately fund schools, all while supporting siphoning from them to fund charters & vouchers.
I don’t trust your “reform”.

Put a stop on all STAR testing (how much a year is spent on that?) and allow teachers to go back to teaching again. Got to be a cheeper and better way to see how students are learning.

This has been an issue for 25 years. Rich districts having to pay for immigrants districts. Texas should have built the wall 30 years ago.

I can remember struggling to find rides for my kids since we lived too close to school. Too far to walk. My next door illegal neighbors had a public small school bus pick their kids up every morning. ESL students. Build the Wall

Will you get teachers involved?. Their pay is DEPLORABLE! Middle school accommodates mostly 30 kids per class, 7 to 8 classes a day. Who can learn? Who can TEACH? And the paperwork demands....district, state, even federal. Hello parents. Get involved.

The way that Texas funds public schools is an abomination because the schools are supposed to be free according to the Texas constitution and not paid by home owners. That is not free schooling.

And this needs to happen in a way that provides *at least* adequate funding for all schools and districts! Starving public education is short-sighted in so many ways.

And how will schools that teach poor kids be funded?

let’s move #education away from dehumanizing paradigm of funding “schools” & “districts” & towards thinking in terms of funding students as individuals with unique needs.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
