.@GregAbbott_TX I contested my property appraisal in Polk County Texas and brought up the Texas Constitution where it states property cannot be assessed for more than it would sell for. I brought in an appraisal and the judge told me he didn't care what the Constituion said.

Gee, where's my surprise face? When my husband worked in the courts he said some judges think they're God; some are just plain nuts. One judge would be naked under his robe...

Does this mean the state of texas is actually going to support state education? or you are going to ensure a system that is fair to property owners , both are important.

He’s scared we’ll lose our 45th place in education. So he won’t want to touch that.

I believe the primary issue is school district and cities building giant stadiums, extravagant buildings and administrative waste, mis-management of our tax dollars. It’s easy to spend other people’s money.

Who will pay for... everything? You don’t charge enough corporate tax. State income tax would be nice.
-
Nice for who!?!
-
For people who pay $15k a year in property taxes. It really is ridiculous.
-
I pay over $20k, and agree completely. But I was asking about your statement that a state tax would be nice... nice for whom?
-
And how much corporate tax do you pay?

You must live in a different Texas than I do, Governor. Most people want their roads repaired, schools improved, and children educated to take on the future. You don't know each community's needs and plans. One size fits all is not the Texas way of governing. Sad!

It is a shame the number of people I know in Texas that have to sell their homes because of the exorbitant property taxes! Fix this now!!
