Why are so many of your policies inconsistent w/ Christ’s teachings? Jesus fed the hungry; you’ve refused to raise our min wage & rolled back TANF, w/ net result of Texans working 2 full-time jobs who can’t afford to feed their families, but don’t qualify for assistance. 1/
-
Jesus healed the sick. You refused to expand Medicaid & shut down women’s health prog just to punish PP (because abortion—incidentally, a topic which Jesus said boo). Net result? TX has highest uninsured rate in US & maternal mortality rate on par w/ 3rd world country. 2/
-
Jesus turned the other cheek. You retaliate against cities, counties & orgs who dare defy your draconian policies. Net result: Texans—ACTUAL PEOPLE—who support their local leaders suffer. 3/
-
You vilify undocumented immigrants. Jesus said to show our neighbors mercy when he said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” Or when he told the parable of the Good Samaritan. Please, governor, go & do likewise. 4/4

Your definition of peace is to allow the continued systematic suppression of minorities. Which is also NOT what Jesus Christ preached.

You claim to be a Christian. Name one of Jesus' values you have brought to the table. Feeding the poor? Nope. Healing the sick? Nope.

Abbott has given christians a bad name. When I hear “I am a christian.... blah blah blah”, all I hear is “look out for this person, he/she can’t be trusted”. Let’s look at deeds not words. I don’t see any christ-like deeds in his record.
